Laura D's Farewell Party

Laura D. is movin' East...to the Boston area that is. After over a decade here in the Valley she is moving back to her homeland. She's even going to be working for DSS out that way! So, tonight was a farewell party for her. Here she is with some of the young adults (former kids?) she's hung out with, encouraged, supported, mentored and more..over years of working with the youth at church.

Art in the Gardens of East Village

Some of the art on display Sunday in East Village was in the little neighborhood gardens tucked among the tall buildings. This huge recycled art sculpture/tower was in one such garden. It was constructed of lots of lumber scraps and many discarded toys, dolls, rocking horses and more. Taller than most of the trees, it towered above the gardens below.

Howl Fest, NYC's East Village

Sunday we travelled to NYC to see bit of the city .... especially East Village, and check out some "art in unusual places" at the third annual Howl Festival. This shot is Ben, Jess and Aaron outside the Fusion Art Museum.
